Guest guest
I too have visual disturbances and to go along with that, derealization/depersonalization. I have noticed that since I began HC and T3, my symptoms have gotten better, although they haven't completely disappeared (I'm still in the nascent period of my treatment). Out of curiosity, what exact visual problems are you having? Mine include (but are not limited to): grainy/snowy vision, visual processing, the world seems to be in 2D and not 3D, reading, bright lights bother me, starbursting of lights, letters have shadows and my eyelids feel heavy. I would be curious to find out if yours are similar. Thanks,Mike I really dont know if this is the right group to post this, but Im trying anyway. I have read alot about dr. Lowes teories about fibromyalgia, and are wondering if anyhere has had sucsess with treatment with T3...I find that my symptomes vanished after six months on combo treatment T4/T3, I also got rid of disturbing and dehabilitating visual disturbances after only one month with treatment. In the year prior to starting treatment, I had more than 26 incidents of visual disturbances that my main doc told me was some kind of silent migraine, without headache, I find it very interessting that my treatment seems to have cured this very disturbing phenomena as I was on the urge of giving up being able to lead a normal life as I would never know when my vision would play tricks on me..... Anyone else with visual disturbances that has been cured after going on treatment??? -- Mike
Guest guest
I have had all kinds of visual disturbances, mainly blurry vision and problems with focusing, without having impaired eyesight. maybe what you describe as snowy vision? I cannot tolerate bright light at all, I still live in darkness altough the visual disturbances are gone now. I also suffered from total loss of eyesight or partially loss of sight....wich means like in migraine aura I could only see half my hand, half the televison, one eye if I take a look at someones face etc. I also had one episode just before I startet treatment where I ended up in the emergency room because my eyelid was hanging, droopy like I had a stroke or something...I would se stars and moons and the disturbance would like begin in one corner of my eye to continue to take over my whole field of vision.... Guest guest
1. CLASSIC MIGRAINE SYMPTOMS!!! GRADUAL visual disturbance over 2/3rds of vision field for 20 minutes or so, then suddenly ending and painful headache starting. some folks get them the next day from eating corn and other grains, legumes, citrus chocolate etc the day before. some can be aborted by huge amounts of : L-lysine eaten at the same time as offending food. 2. night blindness treated by DAILY intake of SUPER high potency fish-oil..... derived from only fish oil....vitamin A (not beta carotine) ------- Original Message ------- From : lindabeate@... Guest guest
well, I didnt have any painful headache following any of my visual disturbances, and nightblindness I have never suffered from, anyway, all the symptoms are gone after combo treatment for hypothyreosis and I couldnt be happier, my main therory here is that my medication somehow must have healed whatever caused them..... > > 1. > CLASSIC MIGRAINE SYMPTOMS!!! > > GRADUAL visual disturbance over 2/3rds of vision > field for 20 minutes or so, then suddenly ending and > painful headache starting. > > some folks get them the next day from eating corn and > other grains, legumes, citrus chocolate etc the day > before. > > some can be aborted by huge amounts of : L-lysine > eaten at the same time as offending food. > > 2. night blindness > > treated by DAILY intake of SUPER high potency > fish-oil..... derived from only fish oil....vitamin A > (not beta carotine) > > > ------- Original Message ------- > From : > lindabeate@... > Sent : 5/23/2010 2:46:08 PM > To : RT3_T3 > Cc : > Subject : RE: Re: Fibromyalgia/ visual > disturbances > > > > > > > > > > > > > I have had all kinds of visual disturbances, > mainly blurry vision and problems with focusing, > without having impaired eyesight. maybe what you > describe as snowy vision? Guest guest
I,too have had decreasing vision, especially in my right eye. Sometimes, it just doesn't 'see', or is blurry. I've been tested recently, and the opthamalogist says that it's just a 'lubrication' issue. I have large eyes with much surface exposed, and always have, it's not due to thyroid. So, I use drops, I blink, i still can't see sometimes..just have to wait for it to clear up. Bright lights bother me and I have terrible floaters. I stopped driving at night for several years, but that seems better. My mental fogginess has cleared gradually since 07 when I started HC, Armour and later Cytomel, but really, only since I stopped Armour in April have I started feeling 'normal'.. still can't see out of my right eye much... it's frustrating. > > I have had all kinds of visual disturbances, mainly blurry vision and problems with focusing, without having impaired eyesight. maybe what you describe as snowy vision?
