Guest guest
Great info on Moderator Nick's website, http://thyroid-rt3.com/ and here's some specific links for your questions: How much T3 only should I be taking to begin this fix? http://thyroid-rt3.com/starting1.htm How long does someone have to stay on T3 only to change these lab values? http://thyroid-rt3.com/howisit1.htm Val mentioned ferritin - in order to utilize thyroid, it needs to be at least 70-90. Many here have had good results with bluebonnet iron, 150-200 mg elemental iron a day, divided into two doses (it is better absorbed that way). Here's a link: http://www.iherb.com/Bluebonnet-Nutrition-Chelated-Iron-90-Vcaps/11571?at=0 Hope this helps. > > I have been over at the adrenals group and am thinking this actually may be a better place to ask some of these questions, so I have pasted the question and 1st Val's answer here. I'm new to this game so need all the details I can get! Thanks in advance! > > Questions: > If I am on 3.25 gr of NDT now, how much T3 only should I be taking to begin this fix? > > How long does someone have to stay on T3 only to change these lab values? > > My most recently labs > FT4 - 1.03 (0.6-1.61 ng/dL) > FT3 -4.36 (2.3-4.2 pg/mL) > Rev T3 - 19 (11 to 32 ng/dL) > FT3 to Rev T3 Ratio = 22.95 > > This is all new for me and so I really appreciate the input! > Michele (NoCal) > > > What Val answered originally... > > Your FT3/RT3 ratio is 22.9 Good ratio is supposed to be over 20 but best is 50+. With ferritin where yours is, more T4 added to this lab to bring it to normal good levels will create a worse RT3 ratio not better. >
