If you feel hypo after adding a little T3 that can be one of 2 things as I see it. the timing of it might be a clue to which. The less likely one would be expected to take several hours to happen which is that added T3 causes TSH to reduce and limit your own thyroid production by more than the amount replaced, in this case taking 10 instead of 5 would stop this effect happening The more likely scenario is that your adrenals are right on the edge and that the least little bit of T3 causes your cortisol levels to drop, in this case the effect would be almost immediate and temperature would drop within 30 mins to an hour of taking the T3. For this little T3 to cause a temperature drop your adrenals must be right on the edge. > > TSH: 2.27 ((.450 - 4.50) > FT3: 3.2 (2.0 - 4.0) > FT4: 1.28 (0.82 - 1.77) These pre treatment labs are strange, the TSH seems very high for that level of FT3 and FT4 indicating that something strange is going on, I am wondering if you are OK thyroid wise and that it's all adrenal issues, these would stop the available T3 getting into the cells leaving you feeling hypo and thinking it's thyroid. Have you done the " temperature averaging " test, have you any saliva test results?? Guest guest
Hey Nick,Yes, I have done a saliva test and I am in a pretty severe adrenal fatigue state. I'm too lazy to look up the results and post here, but I've had Val and others confirm this. I am currently taking 40 mg of HC and I don't want to increase it anymore for the T3 because I've already gained 20 pounds since being on it and my face is very puffy and red. I was thinking the same thing about my thyroid. Do you think it would be a good idea to get off the thyroid meds and after a week or so, get my thyoid hormones retested? Thanks,Mike >Well, I took 5 mcg of cytomel yesterday after a 2 week hiatus and it made me >feel very hypo. I took it in the morning and slept off and on until about 1 >pm.
