Guest guest
Hi Marcy- I looked at the photos, and no I have not seen a head that is flat on both sides like that. It seems like it might be some form of scaphocephaly, although I thought that was flattening of the whole side of the head on both sides (sort of like it's been squished between two boards), not just the back. Have you spoken to a doctor about it? What do they say? The only thing I can suggest to help self correct, is to use a Boppy Noggin Nest: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2507966 The hole helps nest the head and keep it from resting flat on anything. You can use it in the swing, carseat, and on the floor (as long as she supervised). I would not recommend it for the crib. The other thing I used for my son was this head support/bumper: http://www.target.com/Kiddopotamus-Cradler-Adjustable-Head- Support/dp/B000DZS7BG/sr=1-7/qid=1202994631/ref=sr_1_7/601-6080825- 1918512?ie=UTF8 & index=target & field-browse=1038590 & rh=k%3Ahead & page=1 This might really benefit you to use in the carseat because it will keep her head straight and you actually might want some pressure on the very back of her head to push out the sides, so I might use this instead of the noggin nest for that reason. I know you can get the bumpers in the Target store, but you might have to order the noggin nest online. They didn't sell it in the stores when I needed it. Good luck! They both look bad, he said the one was worse than the other...UGH, I am so frustrated...I ahve her sleeping on her belly(with angel care monitor) which she loves, and has been sleeping 10 hrs a night!!! And during the day I watch how long she is in her car seat when we go out...I really dont know what else to do for her! I am tkaing her to a neurosurgeon friday of next week- i want to see what he has to say about her head. Its not just plagiocephaly...I can tell that and I am not a doctor! Both sides are flat! Thanks for all of your advice!~marcy Re: Please take a look at my daughters head...GRETA Hi Marcy-I looked at the photos, and no I have not seen a head that is flat on both sides like that. Guest guest
Marcy, Please keep us posted on what the neurosurgeon says. I thought plagio was only one sided...am I wrong? I wish I had answers for how to reposition her but I don't. It is good that you are on top of her headshape rather than waiting to see if it will work itself out. > > > > Has anyone seen a head like this???? > > > > > > > > _____________________________________________________________________ _______________ > Never miss a thing.
