Guest guest
Hi , It's nice to meet you. My husband is currently in the army and we have Tricare as well. We were denied for the same reason, and unfortunately, I did not file my appeal in time. We were informed by our pediatrician and Cranial Tech that Tricare would deny us up front. I personally have not heard of anyone who got them to pay unless there was surgery involved. Good luck to you and your daughter. Please let me know if they are successful. toni New to group w/questions I am new here and my 9 month old grandson was just diagnosed of positional plagiocephaly. His pediatrician referred him to Cranial Tech in AZ. I was a bit put back by them in the fact they only seemed to want to talk about their financing plans rather than assisting my daughter with gathering information for an appeal to her insurance company. So this is now my destiny - to help her appeal. Has anyone had any experience with TriWest Insurance (military) in this arena? Any suggestions. They denied stating cranial remolding orthosis are excluded in the treatment of nonsynostic positional plagiocephaly. My dtr in only 21 years old and married to a military man and they do not make enough to be able to afford to "make payments" for this therefore, she must appeal in hopes of winning. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ThanksGrandma
Guest guest
Hi , Welcome, I'm surprised that CT in AZ seemed to only want to talk about their financing plans rather than helping your daughter gather information for an appeal. We went to CT in AZ and had a great experience. I believe Rose or Kathy (insurance coordinators) at Cranial Techs Headquarters in Tempe would be able to help with insurance appeal information. They have a packet that was very helpful. There are also appeals in the files section of this webpage. I could send you a copy of my successful appeal to United Health Care if you like...email me at lka_236@... At 9 months, you'd want to band sooner than later...the pediatrician just noticed his headshape at 9 months? or did the pediatrician want your daughter to wait hoping it would round out? Good luck. > > Hi , > It's nice to meet you. My husband is currently in the army and we have Tricare as well. We were denied for the same reason, and unfortunately, I did not file my appeal in time.
