Guest guest
Hi everyone, Wow, what a journey!!! After 15 1/2 weeks in her DOC Band, my daughter, Amelia is finished with her treatment. I took her in to CT on Tuesday to get checked out since we hadn't been in to have her measured in 3 weeks. The last time we were there she had absolutely NO growth, and made an appointment anyway. When we were supposed to go back, the band still had tons of room, so we pushed her appointment back another week. I thought she STILL hadn't grown any, but imagine my surprise when she grew 4 mm!! Wow! Our therapist said that she was done, that after 16 weeks in the band, the holding points are exhausted and the band really becomes a plastic headwarmer. So we walked out of the office with her headsicle and band in a bag with my daughter's naked head exposed for the whole world to see!!! What a weird feeling to look back and see her in the carseat with nothing on her head. It seems so weird, she looks so tiny! We are going back next week for her exit photos and casting, so I am looking forward to having the begininning and ending headsicles together to see how much she has grown. This group has been such a blessing to me and my family. Everything I ever wanted to know about plagio I found here. Everyone is so eager and willing to help out, it's incredible! I also am now armed with the experience and knowledge to help others out if they want it. I know one lady with twins has concerns about her childrens' heads, and it's nice to know that I can at least direct her the same way so that if they need treatment it can be started sooner rather than later. Well, I am sorry that this is soo long!! I have to say to anyone who is doubting or wondering if they should go through with it...go for it!! It is totally worth it! Thank you for all of your help and support!!! Toni Killeen, Texas Mom to Amelia, DOC Band grad 1/2/08, 10 months old

Guest guest
Jen - I see that Luli is a Hanger Grad. My son is going to get sized for his helmet on February 29th. By Hanger Grad do you mean Hanger Orthotics and Prostetics? Luli is beautiful! I was very apprehensive, but I am anxious to get his treatment on it's way. Thanks, KristiCandace Campos <cvcamposmd@...> wrote: Congratulations! We would love to see photos!
