Guest guest
The first time that I got really sick, my naturopathic doctor went through a list of stressful events with me. The ones I remember that I had experienced 1-2 years prior to illness were two root canals, a knee injury, and family issues. I was also on Synthroid at the time, which stressed my adrenals even further. I went for about seven years before I got very sick again. That was due to prolonged emotional stress due to a family situation. The situation got better, but I didn't for a couple of years. K > > I am wondering, and I hope this is considered on topic, how many folks on here had been going through a time of stress or something their bodies perceived as stress prior to getting sick? We all perceive stress differently, I think. I am a worrier by nature, and I hate that, because it seems that the more I worry, the worse I get. I know my adrenals have suffered because of it, and I'm wondering if my low thyroid contributed to the downgrade of the adrenals. My periods before of illness were alway proceeded by a period of intense stress in my life. Stress can be illness, surgery, constant mental drain due to worry, unresolved conflicts, etc. Would love to hear some of your stories! >
Guest guest
I had 3/4 of my thyroid removed about 28 years ago and I"ve been on thyroid meds for about 10 years, but off and on. I ALWAYS have a good TSH, but have been given meds based on symptoms. I was on low does of synthroid for about 6 months, but have been on Armour in the past for about 3 years. I went off a couple of years ago, but have been miserable with headaches for about a year and a half. >Stress can be illness, surgery, constant mental drain due to worry, unresolved conflicts, etc. Would love to hear some of your stories!Quite possibly, I was bullied at school from ages 12 to 16 or so andif I trace back that's when hypo may have startedNick-- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid- rt3.com
