Guest guest
I have been reading about aldosterone and I am just astonished at how my present symptoms fit much more with low aldosterone than with high... My blood pressure is very low, was 95/56 yesterday at midday (my BP has never been high, but it is usually 11/70 or so). Pulse is high (up to 120), particularly when I stand up. If I lay down I am quite O.K., but the very thought of standing up tires me. And I am feeling the heat very much, I just can't face it. However two months ago (just after clearance) I got these labs: Aldosterone: 309 pg/ml (10-105) renin: 0.47 ng/ml/h (0.4-1.9) I will test again, though, together with the rest of labs that Val has suggested. Guest guest
I am getting scared here! My legs and feet are tight and cramping (other muscles feel tight as well) and my heart rate is 120 now sitting in front of the computer. I came home tonight and drank a glass of salted water and it seems my muscles got even tighter... This has never happen to me before. Because of the time of my cycle I can't test aldosterone until 10 days (and then it will take other 10 days or so to know the results!). I wonder if this symptoms could be dangerous and I should go to the hospital or something. But they will treat me really bad if I tell them I'm taking T3 and cortisol Thanks,
Guest guest
Please, I have questions about Aldosterone testing: 1. I am supplementing electrolites (potasium and sea salt). The day I will get tested for aldosterone (I will be salt fasting for 24 hours), should I also get electrolites tested (even though I am regularly supplementing)? 2. Appart from renin and electrolites, is there any other test I should consider? Many thanks, > > High aldosterone absolutely causes high BP. Guest guest
Those are the important ones but DO skip potassium in the AM before the labs as well as salt. You need htis done on the first 1-3 days of your cycle if stil lcycling and as close to 8 am as possible,. You need ot be UPRIGHT at leats 32 hours before this test adn sitting upright when they draw the sample. You also will use UPRIGHT ranges. > > > > High aldosterone absolutely causes high BP.
