Supplementing higher then average doses of vit. D can cause magnesium deficiency. The way I understand it is vit. D uses up magnesium. So if supplementing vit. D it would be a good idea to supplement magnesium as well. Symptoms of mag. deficiency can be : constipation, insomnia, heart palps., anxiety/jitteriness , and muscle cramps. I personally wonder if it can also cause rapid heart rate? I have been supplementing vit d, around 6,000-10,000 iu's. I tested rbc mag. this week and it came up low. I have been having headaches in the am and genrally feeling crappy in the am. So I layed off the vit. d yesterday and today and I am feeling better. I think we are always blaming our thyroid and adrenals for our troubles when actually it could be our treatment that is throwing something else off. I hope this helps someone. Guest guest
You definitely need Vit D as well. Maybe just cut back to 5000iu a day? That is what I take along with lots of mag! kitty To: RT3_T3 Sent: Thu, June 3, 2010 1:27:13 PMSubject: Re: FYI/vit d Hi Kitty, my vit d in dec 09 was 44 before supplementing. Guest guest
calcium? I'm not sure how they relate to each other as far as blood work goes. Do you take calcium? Val recommends everyone be on 5000iu of vit d3 regardless. I don't think 2000iu will bring it up at all. I am at 2000 iu daily now. Any advice?Sendt fra min iPhone Den 3. juni 2010 kl. 19.28 skrev kitty Haindl <cubblebubble@ yahoo.com>: You definitely need Vit D as well. Guest guest
Calcium and Vitamin-D goes hand in hand!
