You want an unrefined salt like the celtic grey sea salt http://www.amazon. com/Celtic- Sea-Salt% C2%AE-Brand- Celtic%C2% AE/dp/B000TIZP5I /ref=sr_1_ 5?ie=UTF8 & s=grocery & qid=1275586221 & sr=8-5 I take salt water all day, I was needing 4-5 teaspoons a day but now seem ok with 3-4. My sodium was 138 and I had horrible low sodium symptoms. I need to get my electrolytes retested so not sure what they are now but last check was 142. I think you want sodium around 142-143. I would start with 1/2 teaspoon of salt in water a few times a day and see how you feel. Aldosterone is a seporate test. You have to salt fast for it. http://faqhelp. webs.com/ aldosteroneandre nin.htm If your aldosterone is very low you will likely need florinef to get it up, no amount of salt worked for me just gave me diarrhea! kitty
