Guest guest
hi everyone I am currently going down on cytomel, now at 55 mcg from 85, because my heart rate was high. I am also going down on HC. I am now at 27 mg. I wanted to try some iodine to see if I could get a little T4 back in my system again. I tried a couple of drops of atomidine in water, and felt terrible all morning, extremely tired, and very swollen facially. So, my question is, am I not responding to the iodine because it is making T4, and therefor, making RT3 again? Or is the iodine doing something else to my thyroid system that is making me feel more hypo? Also, can my body get used to iodine and T4 after a little while? Does the body ever adjust to iodine? Has anyone had any luck with this? Thanks Liz

'm guessing: i think you are not supposed to take iodine when you are doing the T3 protocol??? ------- Original Message ------- From : lizdoubleu Sent : 6/5/2010 9:29:48 PM To : RT3_T3 Cc : Subject : RE: question for those who have tried iodine hi everyone I am currently going down on cytomel, now at 55 mcg from 85, because my heart rate was high. Guest guest
Hi Thanks for the reply. I think the reason for not doing iodine while on T3 only is to stop any T4 from being produced. At this point my RT3 is gone and I would like a little bit of T4 to be produced, so I was hoping the iodine might be okay for that. However, I do have hashimotos thyroiditis, so I think maybe the iodine is making my have a hypo attack because of that. I don't know if it is because I took too much, though, or if there is a way my body could adjust to it. I also wonder if I took T4 in the form of naturethroid, would I have the same reaction? Or is iodine its own weird thing? Thanks Liz > > you asked: > > " so, my question is, am I not responding to the > iodine because it is making T4, and therefor, making > RT3 again? Guest guest
iodine can be complicated. It can set off detox reactions, influence hormones, drop iron levels and more - have a look at www.iodine4health.com and the group http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodine/ I personally really like Iodine, but as part of a protocol not as something random to try and push the thyroid into working. I don't think it would mix well with the RT3 protocol. It might be better to find a bit of stability doing one protocol rather than trying to mix and match. Guest guest
Stan I would love to see these answers too but NOT on this group. Ther is an iodie group that can help wiht iodine questions MUCH better than we can here and we NEED to stay ON tiopic as ther eare just too many posts to wander. I still firmly believe if you are taking enough thyroid you are gettign enough iodine in that thyroid. NO ONE has been able to answer that for me oincluding the " iodine experts " I have asked. So I will continue to believe this until I learn differntly. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
