Guest guest
My daughter's forehead showed improvement pretty soon, but I really don't remember if we could tell in the first 3 weeks (she wore it 5 mo total). But one thing to pass on from our ortho was that he said the forehead can continue to improve post-band because as the head changes from baby->kid the forehead gets a lot higher and this helps with the bossing. -christine sydney 2 yrs starband grad > > Hey All! > Just wondering, I know that we are still early on in our treatment, 3 weeks (he is 5.5 months old) he has R. forehead bossing and flatness in the back. We are seeing GREAT correction in the flatening but it seems that his forehead hasnt changed much. Does any one know if this takes longer? like the ears? > Kami > Keenan 5 months DOC band 3 weeks > > > --------------------------------- > Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Hi Kami, I don't know if it's this way with all helmets, but we have an RHS helmet, and it seems that every month the doctor works on a new part of the head, since the helmet works on a " negative space " philosophy. Once he made adjustments for the bossing of the forehead, we saw an almost complete correction by the next month - but keep in mind that the amount of progress you get depends on the amount of growth your child has each month - which varies. Be patient - I really have not heard of someone who did not see any progress - especially starting at five months! You will be very pleased! Our son is almost done and I think his head looks rounder than most kids! Good Luck, > > Hey All! > Just wondering, I know that we are still early on in our treatment, 3 weeks (he is 5.5 months old) he has R. forehead bossing and flatness in the back. Guest guest
Kami stay calm, you will see correction. The forehead and other facial issues are the last to correct during the banding. We had DOC band and our son had right front bossing majorly! We were 15 mm off with his measurements. About 9 weeks later we are almost perfect. You will see correction. Be positive and be excited. You are doing great by using Cranial TEch and it will all work out.
