Guest guest
Hi, I posted a while back, I'm in Edmonton and my son has plagio/brachy and is getting a helmet tomorrow. He has been casted already. He's 8 months old. I'm totally worried. He was supposed to get the helmet today; however there was some shipping problem and he will get it tomorrow (Wednesday) instead. The problem is, we're leaving for holidays on Thursday to Saskatchewan for 10 days (7 hours from home). I'm completely terrified that it won't fit properly, that we're going to have sleep problems, etc. I was hoping we'd get his helmet on today so we could at least have two nights at home and I could get a better idea if it fit perfect or if there were red spots or anything that we could get adjusted before we leave. But now if we get it tomorrow, and there's fit problems, what do I do??? Take it off for the next 10 days? I am sure they'll probably go over some of this tomorrow at our appt. but I'm so nervous and anxious about how this is going to go. I just want it to go the best it can for my son. I thought about getting the helmet after holidays, but he'll be almost 9 months old then and that window of opportunity is getting smaller. I felt his skull today and the top fontanelle (sp?!) feels like it's almost closed, about the size of a raisin. I hope it's not too late to help correct his head. I'm completely stressed. Any reassurance would be appreciated!!
