Guest guest
The failure of T4 and Natural Thyroid to improve your health sounds like it could be an RT3 problem. You don't need your Dr. to test your RT3. You can get your own RT3 test through econolabs.com (in every state except NJ, NY & RI). No Dr. required. If you can get current FT3 and RT3 results, you can calculate your ratio (and see if RT3 is a problem). If you're good at math, here's the " how to " : http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/8BwQTKhJ0fxuunlUgQrmSOSbMxcITb-7nR8Q31AHdheEtNG9AwL\ q0aADn6fsR9JHa9WENNr5XHmK_DhD3jcVmw/Examples.txt If you're bad at math (like me!), post your numbers and some kind soul here will likely calculate the ratio for you. It should be 20 or over. If your ratio is below 20; then yes, RT3 is a problem, and here's a gold mine of RT3 information - Moderator Nick's website: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ You did not post your iron labs...you will not utilize any form of thyroid well if you are low in iron (ferritin should be over 50, and 70-90 is ideal). Occasionally, ferritin test results can come back falsely elevated, so for a complete iron " picture " , an " iron panel " test is recommended. You can check if your adrenal support is adequate by temperature graphing, here's the link: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/adrenals.htm > > > From: interart81 <interart81 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> > Subject: desperate to regulate thyroid > To: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) com > Date: Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 10:24 PM > > > Â > > I don't know if my last message went through or not........ > > -I have been to many docs and each increases or lowers my meds and I can't regulate my thyroid..... .my T4 had always been low so docs had put me on levythoxine and I was taking 75mg T4 and armour 45g 2/day in NOV. 09. Guest guest
Thank you, tomorrow will post my ferritin and adrenal results in that I have them in my office. How much time should one be off T3 in order to test RT3 because actually 3 days ago I started taking by myself cytomel 12.5mg (or 1/2 pill).......should I stop now and test in 10 days, is that ok? > > > From: interart81 <interart81 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com>> Subject: desperate to regulate thyroid> To: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) com> Date: Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 10:24 PM> > > Â > > I don't know if my last message went through or not........> > -I have been to many docs and each increases or lowers my meds and I can't regulate my thyroid..... .my T4 had always been low so docs had put me on levythoxine and I was taking 75mg T4 and armour 45g 2/day in NOV. 09. Guest guest
Being on Cytomel will affect your RT3 results. I'm not sure 3 days of it is long enough to do so; but the plan you've suggested will probably give the most accurate results; stop now and test in 10 days. When you re-start the Cytomel, don't miss Moderator Nick's webpage on this subject: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm > > > > > > From: interart81 <interart81 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> > > Subject: desperate to regulate thyroid > > To: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) com > > Date: Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 10:24 PM > > > > > > Â > > > > I don't know if my last message went through or not........ > > > > -I have been to many docs and each increases or lowers my meds and I can't regulate my thyroid..... .my T4 had always been low so docs had put me on levythoxine and I was taking 75mg T4 and armour 45g 2/day in NOV. 09. Guest guest
UMM I would not stop T3 to test RT3. Three days on T3 is not going to reduce RT3 much. T3 shoudl not be just stopped once oyu are on it for several weeks as it supresses T4 production. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
I plan to be in the US on 6-23 and can test then, but then my results will be skewed if I stay on the T3 won't they?
