Guest guest
I just wondered if anyone would share their journey so far? I started on Cytomel on Saturday, and on Sunday seemed to perk a little. My temps actually came up to 98.6 that afternoon for the first time in forever! But now, all I want to do is lie down or rest...(today Thursday). I could hardly get out of bed in the a.m. yesterday or today. Just felt like I could NOT lift my head off of the pillow. Also have that foggy brain feeling like someone stuffed a sock in my head. I have rt3, and was tested at 12.14 range last week. Is it possible that the 20 mcg of Cytomel (increasing to 25 today) is working some, and that my body is trying to force me to be still so it can heal? I don't feel wired/tired like I used to feel....just so tired! How long until it gets better? I feel like a slug, and I hate not being able to do much because my husband works so hard. I do his paperwork from home, but it stinks, because I was productive before, and went in to our plant every day and was involved with things. I want my life back! (Yes, I'm whining)! I don't care if you notice just little things, I want to know what they are. I'm curious that way! Blessings to all of you who are on this tough journey. I pray that each day ahead will be easier and easier for you all! And special blessings to the mods.....what wonderful folks they are! Guest guest
Hi Joanie, I started cytomel last Saturday, too. My doc has me taking 25 mcg twice daily so far. Saturday night I had an all-encompassing headache, muscle aches and felt generally lousy. I can so relate to what you said about your head feeling like it's stuffed with a sock! I can't seem to get any work done either! I'm short-tempered, a little agitated, (though cortisol is low) and it seems like nothing goes smoothly anymore. Wednesday I was depressed for practically no reason at all. This morning I overslept. Vaguely heard the radio alarm but continued to lay in my bed like a rock until my husband had to wake me up. I was almost 30 minutes late to work! Also my face is puffy, squinty-looking eyes. All in all I would say I'm definitely feeling hypo. I wonder how/if the dosage should be increased? My doc prescribed the T3 upon my suggestion and I wonder if she even knows how to increase the dosage. After joining this group it seems like everyone starts at a lower dose than she started me. I was taking 1 and a half grains of Erfa thyroid previously. I hope you start feeling better soon! Sometimes I wonder if it is even possible to feel good again. I sincerely hope so!!
