Quick question about iron panel lab

I had plan to have an iron panel done tomorrow, but today I had the first signs

that the period is coming, perhaps tonight or tomorrow, would it be a bad idea

to get the iron panel tests now, because of the loss of blood?

I wondered that, too! I had my ferritin done when on my period, so I wondered if that would give a low reading? Plus I think I'm getting closer to the big "M" because they are getting closer and closer together. (Not hijacking your thread, but wondering the same thing, too)!
