Guest guest
I only recently heard of Venofer. But I had an "iron infusion". It was done in an infusion center and Medicare and my supplement insurance covered it. It took about 3.5 hours. They checked blood pressure ever 15 min, and in general kept an eye on me. I had no problems. My ferritin was 11 (13-150) before the infusion. April 09 it was 277. July 07 214. Nov 09 161. I am anemic and it did not effect the RBC HGB HCT I don't think it had any effect on how I feel. The doctor said it should have. Betty Hi Christy: I get "Venofer" IVs. Each vial is about $78, and my Dr. charges $70 to administer them.
