Get a referal to a Physical Therapist in your area and get an evaluation. Your son may not like the exercises but they will help him. If he does not get rid of the tort, I am told that other kids start to notice at age 2 or so and make comments. They are also at a disadvantage with sports and are slow with motor skills. Correcting now is the key. A good pt will see you once a week and then have you follow up at least two times a day with stretches. Whether he likes it or not it is necessary. Tort is serous and in some cases requires an operation to cut the tight ligaments. Trust your intstincts and get in there now. He does an adorable butt scoot to get around. Now that he's started walking I posted video for my family and my sister-in-law who's a PT said she thinks he has tort issues. We never noticed him being "jammed up" or "crooked" before but you can really tell now that he's walking. His flatness was more so on his left side but we were never told that he could have tort. How do they evaluate tort? Does anybody have an active 1+ old that they have to do exercises/stretches with? I'm concerned that he's going to be very resistant to any kind of "treatment". Assuming he even needs it at this point but I'm pretty sure he does. If there's anything

Thanks Tammy. I've got an eval for him on 2/7 as of this morning. I

guess ped PTs are sort of scarce around here but I was able to sign

up in advance for regular visits assuming it is tort. I will most

certainly do whatever I need to do but was wondering if anyone had to

go through this with an " older " child and if there are any tricks to

making it more fun for them (and me!). I'm sure I'll figure it out!

My dd has persistant tort - but we have been dealing with it since birth. Have you been to the torticollis board? I'm sure they could help you.

See your ped and see about getting a diagnosis - or see an othopedic surgeon. PT will need to be done - but PLEASE make sure that xrays, ultrasound or CT is done to make sure there are no bone abnormalities - though rare - it can casue furthur damage if treatment is started without ruling this out.
