It's good that you haven't seen any problems with this so far, however I would caution anyone for using something that isn't directly recommended from their own helmet/band provider. If you haven't gotten approval from your orthotist, please let he/she know what you are cleaning the helmet with, to make sure that it will not have any issues even if you haven't seen any thus far. In most cases, only alcohol is recommended because it doesn't leech into the foam, and it evaporates quickly. Some types of cleaners can interfer with the inner foam and how it is attached to the molding device. For cleaning, it really depends on the molding device, and the recommendations from each provider. However, shampoos and other things that you use are probably more universal, and are not so dependant on the type of molding device....>------- Original Message ------->From : irishtwinsandmypremie[mailto:brendjul@...]>Sent : 3/2/2008 8:22:51 PM>To : Plagiocephaly >Cc : >Subject : RE: Sanitizing Spray For Cleaning My Sons Helmet>>Hi There, I am not sure if this was posted before (I did not see it). We have been cleaning Connor's helmet with Clorox Daily Sanitizing Spray. The spray is helping with any stains as well as odor. My son has not had any reaction to the cleaner. We make sure the helmet is fully dried before putting it back on. ~ Mom to Cian, Keira and Connor (2 weeks into our new helmet) For more plagio info

I agree with about checking first before using such a cleaner.

The information I got from Cranial Tech said to use ONLY rubbing

alcohol to clean the band. Other products might cause problems with

breakdown in the foam.
