Guest guest
Hi is: yes, your % saturation is low, here's another post from Val saying it should be 35-45. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/42939 I do not think it is " pitifully low " but you will utilize thyroid better if you raise it. I don't understand why your previous labs were so different, or why your sister also got strange lab results. My first guess is laboratory error. Val said she does not think lactoferrin is helpful for raising iron, here's her post: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/39923 (the rest of that thread is interesting, too, about lactoferrin, iron absorption, etc.) However, Rainbow posted her " raising iron " success story, and it included lactoferrin, here is a link: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/39941 Although she was taking many different things, so it's difficult to tell specifically what was helpful. The best absorption-enhancer I know of is taking vitamin C at the same time as the iron. I don't know if low TIBC affects how you much iron you should supplement with. > > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/43482 > > ok, i found a post from val answering someone in a similar situation as me as far as what their iron labs looked like... but i just want to ask if my serum iron and %saturation are pitifully low or just on the low side?? and since my binding capacity is on the low side, val, how much of an iron dose do you recommend i start back on? > > i have the blue bonnet iron, and i also have lactoferrin and dessicated beef liver... i think i am going to try a combination of the three, any specific recommendations from anyone? > > > thanks all!!!! >
