Guest guest
Hi I just have to add my 2 cents worth here. Sleep is a big issue with many. Ambien is the medication, in addition to many others, they put my mother on during her 12 day evaluation for Alzheimer Disease and Behavior or Mood Disorders. She has had sleep problems for at least 40 years but refused to take any medication for anything including the behavior problems. I was surprised when that was the drug of choice at the psychiatric evaluation clinic. They said they had wonderful results with it and mother most certainly has had great results. *****I do want to add here, Cindy is right, Jim Todd took Ambien but he had extreme problems with it. It was not something he wanted to use. I remember Nan saying it would knock him out to the point she wondered if he would wake back up. So I would caution anyone with MSA about using it unless under the watchful eye of medical staff to make sure it does not depress the system to the point of stopping it. I'm off to pick the little B Boy up from school. Gotta run as my day of homework and reading starts now!!!!!!!!! Sally
Guest guest
Ken took Benedryl prescribed by the doctor but purchased over the counter to help him sleep. It worked very well for many years. Barbara
Guest guest
I know this is a few days old but thought I'd chime in. Yes, Jim did have sleep problems. He was on Ambien for his, because it would put him to sleep, but not leave him in a fog the next morning or make him sleep so soundly that he couldn't wake up if he needed to cath. It's used a lot in geriatrics because of the limited side effects and gentleness. Jim had a horrible reaction to trazadone - as though his whole body was asleep but his mind wasn't the next day - it really scared us! He couldn't function at all.
