Guest guest
Heidi, That is interesting--let us know if you see a change in your RT3 levels from the mg therapy also. No, I have not had to take HC. I went into a severe adrenal crisis about 2 years ago,and my adrenals have been a mess, but I've been fortunate that they have responded to the magnesium therapy so well without needing any HC. I did use some Isocort for a few weeks which helped. I think the magnesium calmed my nervous system down immensely which helped the cortisol and adrenaline levels to balance back out---also was then able to take the supplements which support adrenals and thyroid, such as B complex, B12, vitamin C,zinc, selenium, etc. that I couldn't take before magnesium therapy. I noticed you are on Florinf--the one side effect with high-dose mg I've had is lower BP. I already had low BP, and magnesium is a natural calcium channel blocker--it will lower your BP quickly, so you have to work that in. I take extra salt which helps, and take largest dose right before bed so low BP doesn't bother me as much. But reently I've lowered my mg dose and BP went quickly back up to normal, and I am feeling better BP-wise, with no mg deficiency symptoms coming back. So I think my cells are now finally replenished with mg, and I don't need such a high dose. So much of this is just experimentation, and getting to know your body's needs really well. Did you have any magnesium deficiency symptoms? > > Kate, > > This fascinating. I have gotten my iron up and was on as much as 45 mg HC and 1 tab florinef without being able to get my temps above 98-98.1 and without temps getting stable. I am wondering if magnesium is the missing piece of the puzzle, based on a very strong but temporary reaction I've had to a modified Myers cocktail (IV) which includes magnesium. When I feel good after the IV, my temps are up, I have energy and I don't feel like I need HC. Since starting the IVs (I've had 4 in a month) I have dropped florinef completely and reduced HC to 37.5 > > Are you or were you on HC and did the magnesium have an effect on your need for it? > > Heidi >
