Guest guest
Thanks Val and Margery. I will continue to raise as I feel hypo symptoms return. It's hard in a way, because a lot of my symptoms are long-term rather than things I would see change on a daily basis. For instance, my hair and skin are dry, I have those red bumps on arms, that kind of stuff, and those symptoms aren't going to change overnight. I don't really have much fatigue or cold temps and those seem like the most obvious ones to help me know I need to raise my Cynomel. I'll keep an eye on it though. Amy > > > > I'm at 3 weeks right now and already up to 75mcg because of how high I'd started (50mcg because I had been on 5 grains Armour). On the website it says most will be at that 75mcg by the 8 week mark. Am I ok? Should I not be increasing as much and what should be my final goal DURING the first 12 weeks? Pulse is fine, symptoms and energy are fine. > > > > Amy > > >

Pulse is fine, symptoms and energy are fine. starting at 5 grains of Armour doesn't fit you into the " most " category. The trade offs are hypo symptoms while clearing against a day or so hyper after clearance. I started from 12 grains of Natural, started on 100 of T3, got up to 250 of T3, and when I went hyper at clearance dropped the dose massively and was probably only hyper for less than 10 hours (it cleared when I was sleeping). I run my own business, I took the risk of hyper because I couldn't afford to be non-functional due to hypo while clearing. The advice on the web site is cautious, it has to be, people may follow that with their Drs without being on the Yahoo group and having the backup of talking to people who have been there. Guest guest
Thanks Nick. Is the " clearing " you're talking about the thing that happens for many people around 12 weeks? Do you think that would happen sooner for me since I'm on a higher dosage already? Right around 12 weeks I am going to be on vacation out of the country, and I'm a little bit worried about the clearing happening then. Not only will I be away from home and out of my regular routine, but I'll be flying and staying different places and also singing in a wedding. I doubt there would be a doctor nearby who would know anything about RT3 or myxedema coma or any of that. Is there anything I should be watching out for or anything I should do differently so that I don't have a bad situation and suddenly go hypo or hyper? Guest guest
Val, just out of curiosity, how many grains of natural thyroid were you on prior to starting Cynomel, and how much Cynomel did you start on? Guest guest
Clearance is not rushed by taking more T3, it is a time thing and pretty dclose for most peopel to 12 weeks. >> >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >> http://faqhelp.webs.com/ >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >> http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ >> > Thanks Nick. Guest guest
I had tried all the way up ot 8 grains Armoru and then went ot 4 grains wiht 50mcg T3 and my FT3 would NOT go up. That is when I decided I needed to try JUST T3 to see if I could raise ,my FT3 that way. I started wiht 100MCg as I had no clue what to start on. >> >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >> http://faqhelp.webs.com/ >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >> http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ >> > Val, just out of curiosity, how many grains of natural thyroid were you on prior to starting Cynomel, and how much Cynomel did you start on? > > Amy > > >> >>> I'm at 3 weeks right now and already up to 75mcg because of how high I'd started (50mcg because I had been on 5 grains Armour). Do you think that would happen sooner for me since I'm on a higher dosage already? > It's the time from when the T4 levels sink, not the absolute amount of T3 you are on For me it was around the 11 week mark, if someone can only raise T3 slowly due to ferritin/cortisol issues it may be monger. For me it was a non-event, woke up sweaty as though I had a fever, checked pulse and it was high and temperature which was high as well, and skipped the next few doses or took 1/4 of the normal dose. At this stage you have no T4 and your own thyroid is shut down so everything happens nice and simply with only one time scale in there, that of T3 decay, I got to a workable dose within 3 days and have edged up again since. I have resistance other than that caused by RT3 and this is what caused my RT3 issues when taking enough Natural to overcome that resistance. T3 is the most benign thyroid hormone to adjust by symptoms, it has been a much easier journey on T3 than it was on Natural Don't worry about it, with a thermometer and a watch to check pulse against it's quite easy to read your body. Get on with your trip and enjoy it. Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
Hi Amy: I can see how it would be more difficult for you to adjust dose according to symptoms. There's no way to know if you'll even need to adjust your dose; thought it would be worth mentioning that the dose you're currently on is what many people clear RT3 on, here are two links to Val's posts on the subject: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/40546 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/40588 > > > > > > I'm at 3 weeks right now and already up to 75mcg because of how high I'd started (50mcg because I had been on 5 grains Armour).
