Guest guest
I have been " moaning " in here for a while because after clearance I haven't been able to feel well and stable: some days I feel very good, but most of the time I don't. Lately I was also having very high heart rate and got quite scared (I am a bit better now, but it is still a bit high). So, finally I got the labs Val advised me to get and I am looking forwards to see if we can identify the problem. adrenals: (more than 24 hours salt fasting /I also didn't take any potassium during that period: recently I had been supplementing 1200 potassium and half tsp of sea salt twice a day). I was supplementing 12.5 HC when I took the test (now I am taking 17.5 because I was getting symptoms of low cortisol). I Took the test at 8.30 a.m., day 4 of my cycle: Aldosterone: 21.3 ng/dl (7-30) renin: 1.4 ng/ml/h. (0.15-3.95) ACTH serum: 16.1 pg/mL (normaity range: less than 46.00) cortisol: 16.82 ug/dL (6.03-30.15) Potassium: 4.3 mEq/L (3.5-5.5) Sodium: 143 mEq/L (135-155) I know serum cortisol is not considered helpful when supplementing, but my doctor always asks me for it... Iron Panel: (Was done just after finishing the period) Iron: 94.0 mcg/dl (40-140) Transferrin: 202 mg/dl (200-350) TIBC: 296 ug/dl (245.52-412.92) Ferritin: 62.8 ng/mL sat-Transferrin: 31.7 % (20-50) Just after clearance ferritin was 120, and then I stopped iron supplementation. How does this look? Thanks,
Guest guest
Again to me, your iron labs look a tad low. I knwo Dr Holtorf recommends iron supplementaiton till % sat is 35% or higher. >> >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >> http://faqhelp.webs.com/ >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >> http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ >> > > I have been " moaning " in here for a while because after clearance I haven't been able to feel well and stable: some days I feel very good, but most of the time I don't. Guest guest
It is the first time I have an iron panel and I have no idea what the numbers mean, but just reading a few things here and there isn't tranferrin quite low? Shouldn't it be higher if I needed iron? Sorry I am not trying to be argumentative here, just trying to understand the labs... Thanks you very much for taking the time of looking at them! > > Again to me, your iron labs look a tad low. Guest guest
And, what could it mean? As I said I have no idea, but I have read that when you need iron transferrin goes up... The other labs suggest I could do with a bit more iron, but the transferrin results puzzle me... Do you understand what is going on? Thanks, > > > >> Again to me, your iron labs look a tad low.
