Guest guest
hi everyone, just a quick question... does anyone else have psoriasis and does anyone have any idea what its attributed to?? since started the t3only protocol back in the beginning of march, i have developed these raised round areas of skin that are clustered and are red, almost scaly, but not like eczema scaly, starting on my left elbow, then it developed on my right elbow, and now a little on my right knee. growing up i always had issues with eczema, so i am pretty sure this is not eczema, as it seems different. i cant seem to put a finger on what exactly makes it better and what makes it flare up. when it gets better though, i just mean its not flaring up... it has yet to actually go away. even though i hate it and wish it would:( anyone have any experience with this? Guest guest
I have psoriasis, but mine started after turning hypoT, so I have attributed my skin problems to the hypoT issue. I could be wrong on that but psoriasis is considered to be a kind of inflammatory response, and inflammation is very common in us hypoT’s. I’ve tried a slew of supplements to keep it under control and I believe the two that have helped are curcumin and fish oil. I also use small amounts of extra virgin olive oil and salex lotion applied directly to the skin to control the itching and scaling. Guest guest
Thanks to you both for posting your question and answer. I have this also, but didn't connect it with being hypothyroid. I take fish oil already, but you've given me a couple more things to try.AnnTo: RT3_T3 Sent: Sun, June 27, 2010 7:22:28 PMSubject: RE: anyone else with psoriasis? Guest guest
wow, thank you all for your useful responses... hmmmm, gives me some things to try and to think about now. during this whole hypoT and hypoA ordeal, and i mean from the beginning of when i discovered it and then started armour, it seems that symptoms have been unveiled like layers of an onion... things come up as others are peeled away. makes it hard to distinguish what causes what exactly. and this particular symptom just sucks, but i guess they all kind of do dont they? ps, do you mean you put fish oil actually on the skin itself, or just swallow fish oil capsules? not sure i'd be able to stand myself if it was directly on my skin, lol.
