Guest guest
Good morning, all, FT3/RT3 ratio was 11.55, so I switched from 3 grains of Armour last week to 31.25 mcg Cynomel. I held at 31.25 for four days, then bumped to 37.5 (dosing 5 times per day). I am now at day six, and I have a headache in the front of my head. My feet, ankles, and calves are swollen and hard as rocks (they always are swollen some, but this seems quite a bit more than usual). I'm sure my ferritin is still low, probably about 30; it was 20 when I had it checked in April. I'm guessing at 30, and don't have the money to have it checked again right now. I have no symptoms, though - no hair loss, hgb and hct were in normal range when last checked. I attributed the elevated RT3 to low ferritin. Blood pressure is ok, running about 125/80, and pulse is anywhere from 82 to 95. Basal this morning was 97.8 at 5:30 a.m., by 8:30 a.m. it was 98.4. I recently ran out of the mag citrate that I was taking, and cut my potassium supplement in half because gastro doc told me I have gastritis. 1/4 tsp of Epsom salt in half a glass of water takes the headache away, but after an hour it comes right back. Also encountered occasional headaches about half an hour after I take my T3. These come and go within 10 or 15 minutes. Am I already taking too much T3 for the level of ferritin I probably have? Other than having more labs done, how could I tell? And, what symptoms can I expect to have while in transition between nth and T3 only? I'm pretty worried about this swelling, which I believe is myxedema. It is non-pitting. I also have various lumps on me, under the skin but not like lipomas or anything - on back of left calf, on top of trochanteric bursa on left hip, right hip is headed there, too. I think these are mucin deposits, and I've probably been hypo and untreated for a long time. Just started nth in February. Any advice? Many thanks, Bette

Guest guest
Now a new " situation. " Basal temp dropped almost an entire degree in the last two days, from 97.8 to 96.9. Daytime temps are all over the place for the last two days...98.4, 98.9, 98.1. My 8:30 a.m. temp 2 days ago was 98.4. Today it is 97.8. Temps two days ago were 97.8 (, 98.4, 98.9, 98.4. Then yesterday I had 97.4 (, 98.1, 98.1, 98.0. Already I see an adrenal-fatigue-like fluctuation in temperature. I was taking Solaray Adrenal Support caps from February until late May, but stopped them because I thought I didn't need them any more. Now it appears that I do. Stress at home will do that to us, I guess. I have a few Solarays left, so took one this morning and already smeared myself with a half-teaspoon of HC cream, which I think would be about 20 mg, but no telling how much of that I'll actually absorb and use. I did feel a mini-dump after doing that, though, so some good came of it, and it shows that I'm most likely pooling a bit. Does this sound right to y'all? I should say that I really do feel pretty darn good, but that may just be in comparison to feeling pretty darn bad for years and years before this. *L* Another question, since y'all are so smart...any ideas on where I could go on the 'net to find similar smart people to talk to about gastro issues? I have deficiencies of B12, D3, K, protein, and ferritin, and am nearly certain that it's intestinal malabsorption (and dysfunction, because K should be manufactured there). I cannot seem to find a smart GI doc, so guess I'm on my own with this as well. Thanks, Bette > > Good morning, all, > > > > FT3/RT3 ratio was 11.55, so I switched from 3 grains of Armour last week to 31.25 mcg Cynomel.
