Guest guest
Hello All!Has anyone been successful switching to Armour after eliminating RT3 by taking T3 only? I'd like to go to the natural Armour rather than the synthetic T3 I am currently taking. Currently I am at 150 mg T3 (25 mg tablets 6 times a day). Please correct me if I am wrong: I should continue on the T3 until I experience hyper symptoms and then back off the T3 to until I feel comfortable with no hypo and no hyper symptoms. Is that correct? At what point can I try Armour? Do I understand correctly that if my system is flooded with T3, the T4 in Armour will convert into RT3 and I'll be back right where I started? I can't understand how one can switch to Armour without a rise in RT3. Has anyone successfully switched!?!Thanks!Chris from Wisconsin : )
Guest guest
I've read posts from those who have switched successfully back to Natural Thyroid from T3-only. But there are a lot MORE posts from people who have tried, only to see their RT3 climb again. It depends on what is causing the RT3 in the first place. If it was low iron, and that has been corrected, than the switch back to NT would go smoothly. But it usually isn't as simple as that; not all causes for RT3 are known, some people may have multiple causes, and those causes that are known can not all be corrected. Moderator Nick has an excellent web page about this, here's the link: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/swapping.htm > > Hello All! > Has anyone been successful switching to Armour after eliminating RT3 by taking T3 only?
