Guest guest
It didn't used to be this way! My mom miscarried once, and was instantly put on thyroid. This would have been around 1952. Thyroid amnesia amongst obgyns is a modern phenomenon. (My brother was born in 1953.)AnnTo: RT3_T3 Sent: Wed, June 30, 2010 5:49:45 PMSubject: HypoT and miscarriages I'm 56 now, but had 8 miscarriages after my daughter was born in 1976, with the last one in 1993, I think when I was 40. There was no doubt in my mind then, or now, that it was undiagnosed hypothyroidism and related hormonal issues, but I never could get a doctor to treat me, until my adrenals blew out and I just collapsed at age 52 or 53. It makes me so sad that even now, when we know the relationship between HypoT and miscarriage it's not considered or treated by many OB-Gyns. Just wanted to put in my personal experience in case it helps anyone have a little more courage to push their doc to get what is needed.
