Guest guest
Hello, I have beeen on T3 only for 6 weeks. I think my adrenals have shut down as I have horrible energy during the day after having a very stressful weekend. I thought my adrenals were pretty stable, but now I am having second thoughts. Also I am concerned as I just read an article from the American Thyroid Association that discusses T3 only treatment. Because I feel so bad, I'm getting worried that I'm hurting myself somehow. My temperatures range from 95.5 first thing in the morning to 98.0 if I'm lucky around 5:00 pm. They average about 97.0. Yesterday after trying to figure out my energy issues, I decided to get some HC cream. I'm not sure how to dose this? I also was thinking of ordering some Isocort. Should I ween off T3 and start on some kind of adrenal support? Thank you, Beckey
Guest guest
Beckey,Would you post that article please or the link to it? I have been on T3 only, for a year at least. I have to say this is the best I have felt in many years. That is not to say I don't have some not so good days but I would not go back to a T4/T3 med. Certainly not just a T4 med. Anyway, I would be interested in what they had to say. Thanks,VeniziaSubject: Ready to throw in the towel!!!To: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, July 1, 2010, 1:40 PM Hello, I have beeen on T3 only for 6 weeks. Guest guest
Becky I would NEVER recommend any kind of adrenal support wihtout first doing saliva cortisol labs. The reason fo rthis si that lwo and high cortils share mny of the same symptoms. You can HURT your adrenals by taking a supplement incorrectly especially anything that contains cortisol. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > Hello, > > I have beeen on T3 only for 6 weeks. Guest guest
I had a saliva test done, but it was last year. At that time they were: 6-8am 25 elevated range 13-24 11-12 3 depressed range 5-10 4-5pm 7 normal range 3-8 10-mid 19 elevated range 1-4 For this reason, I take zinc and holy basel at night. I think I need to supplement with something in the middle of the day. My overall cortisol burden is 54 with the reference range 23-42. I know I should retake my saliva test, but I don't want to stop the supplements for fear of how bad I might feel. My worst time is during the hours of 10-4 during the day. I just want to crawl into bed. If I have work to do, I can do it, but if I don't, I'm like a zombie. I think the work gets my cortisol flowing enough that I can function and not feel as bad. Thanks for all your advice. Beckey > Hello,>> I have beeen on T3 only for 6 weeks. I think my adrenals have shut down as I have horrible energy during the day after having a very stressful weekend. Guest guest
Wel we shoudl take this ot the adrenals group btu as it is closing tonight for a week break, I will answer it here. First, taking T3 wil lower high cortisol. It literally uses it up. As you continued ot take cortiosllowering herbalsk AND T3 ther eis a good possibility this progressed from a stage three where it WAS to a possible four now. Have you lookd tha tthe differnt staged of adrenl fatigue? It progresses very differntly from stage three to four. coritlls DROPS. I would stop your supplements immediately. Your symtpoms are of lwo not high cortis.. Have you checked BP recently? That may help sort it out but I woud urge you to get another saliva test ASAP to KNOW what has changed in this last year. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ I had a saliva test done, but it was last year. Beckey  > Hello, > > I have beeen on T3 only for 6 weeks. Guest guest
Thanks Val, what you are saying makes sense. That's why when I have my low day time cortisol, it is even worse because of the T3 using it all up. I was only taking the Zinc and Holy Basal at night thinking it would help my high night time and morning levels and this would allow my midday levels more. I think I read I need to be off all supplements for 2 weeks before saliva cortisol testing? What should I do about my T3 dosing? Thank you, your advice is invaluable to me! Guest guest
I would reduce it a bit to lower adrenal stress adn just tyr to find as comfortable dose to hold as you can. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ Thanks Val, what you are saying makes sense. Guest guest
Hi Venizia, Good to hear from you again. I was on this group for a long time, but not really even reading. I was trying to get myself to some reasonable condition, was having trouble even getting tested, and finally got my rheumy to do the testing and start the T3. <>Roni Immortality exists!
