Guest guest
These tests can be obtained from ZRTlab.com. Doctors can order them, but you can also order them on your own. Not sure but I doubt medicare will pay. Here's the link: http://www.zrtlab.com/cortisol-tests/diurnal-cortisol-c1-c2-c3-c4-saliva/flypage\ ..tpl.html They have two different saliva tests, the 4-times-a-day is by far the most useful one. > > Hello, > > > > I have beeen on T3 only for 6 weeks. I think my adrenals have shut down as I have horrible energy during the day after having a very stressful weekend. I thought my adrenals were pretty stable, but now I am having second thoughts. Also I am concerned as I just read an article from the American Thyroid Association that discusses T3 only treatment. Because I feel so bad, I'm getting worried that I'm hurting myself somehow. My temperatures range from 95.5 first thing in the morning to 98.0 if I'm lucky around 5:00 pm. They average about 97.0. > > > > Yesterday after trying to figure out my energy issues, I decided to get some HC cream. I'm not sure how to dose this? I also was thinking of ordering some Isocort. Guest guest
Also Roni, going through ZRT Labs through Canaryclub.com is very reasonable. My doctor has the 24hr saliva from Diagnos-Tech and she is now charging $150 for the 4x a day saliva test. ZRT Labs when I did it through them charged me $90.VeniziaSubject: Re: Ready to throw in the towel!!! / saliva cortisol testsTo: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, July 1, 2010, 3:14 PM These tests can be obtained from ZRTlab.com. Guest guest
My problem is I can't afford to pay out of pocket for labs, or anything else for that matter. I am going to try to figure out what I need and try to talk one of my doctors into ordering the tests for me. <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge! Guest guest
It is a hard situation to not be able to afford labs. I was there VERY much when I started this journey as I was only anble to work part time and it si a miracle I even was able to work at all. Far cry from the full time hefty work I am able to do comfortably now! Just a suggestion btu I sold items on Ebay to help pay for the labs I needed when I was very ill. It was not a good regular income but it did provide me with a bit extra to get a few labs my doctors were unwilling to provide. I los6t my insurance fairly early into this and actually, for me, it wa a blessing as it forced me to learn about all this so I didn;t waste money on frivolous labs http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ My problem is I can't afford to pay out of pocket for labs, or anything else for that matter. Guest guest
I totally understand that Roni. Even $90 takes a bite out of ones budget for the month. Have you considered a different type of doctor. I am seeing a naturopath. The tend to be a little more open about things. I have actually taught my doctor from things I have learn from this group and the NTH group and Janie's book but then she is open to learning. Ask around in the groups and see if there is a good doctor in your area or go to the STTM website and see if one is listed in your area.A little off topic, sorry Val. Will behave now. :)Venizia From: Margery__W <m.escoffery@ sbcglobal. net>Subject: Re: Ready to throw in the towel!!! / saliva cortisol testsTo: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) comDate: Thursday, July 1, 2010, 3:14 PM These tests can be obtained from ZRTlab.com. Guest guest
I was referred to an MD who ran a complementary medical clinic. However, he refused to order more T3 than for 20 mcg a day. Of course that was not enough. So far my internist has agreed to order the T3 for me, but I'm not sure how much he actually knows about this RT3 problem. He was also not willing to order a Vitamin D test, stating that it was an expensive test. Why is that his concern? I'm the patient, on vitamin D as per his instructions, and should be tested for it to see how I'm doing. <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge! Guest guest
It amazes me that a doctor would not do a Vit D test especially with all the studies out there about the benefits of taking it. Too expensive??? What??? Where are his loyalties??Before Val says something.....we are getting off topic. Which is RT3/T3.Venizia From: Margery__W <m.escoffery@ sbcglobal. net>Subject: Re: Ready to throw in the towel!!! / saliva cortisol testsTo: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) comDate: Thursday, July 1, 2010, 3:14 PM These tests can be obtained from ZRTlab.com.
