Hi Dawn,

I'm still learning but I calculated her FT3/RT3 ratio as

3000/211 = 14.21

Its not too bad but it really needs to be over 20.

Her Vitamin D needs to come up. So could her ferritin but It might be useful to have a full iron panel done.

Does she have any symptoms?

Josie

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reference_ranges_for_blood_tests#Thyroid_hormones

First they are nto using the correct ranges for a child, btu yo didn't

say her age, so I am guessing she is a child? LOL Her ferritin is too

lwo which is guaranteeing a high RT3. B12 could come up , I prefer

1000. Vitamin D is BAD I keep mine over 80. Her FT3 is low and RT3 too

high so yes she has an RT3 problem and Josie did the ratio correctly.

If she is very young (under 18) I would try IRON (150mg day) , B12

(2500mcg day) & vitaminD (10,000IU day) for abotu 2 months and

retest a full iron panel then after stoppign iron for 5-7 days. Also

retest FT3 and RT3 at this point. Youth is on her side and things MAY

come around wiht correcting those issues.
