Guest guest
My DD was banded at 6 mos until 9 mos I think I am seeing some regression even in her torticollis. She walks with her right shoulder up. And some days I just obsess over the back of her head. I'll upload pics under 's noggin
Guest guest
Hi- It's really hard to tell from the photo. It definitely wouldn't hurt to take her back to the orthotist to get some measurements taken. I would probably also take her back to the physical therapist to get her tort re-evaluated. I was thinking of taking my son back to the PT to check on his tort as well (he's been done with PT for over a year), but then two doctors recently tested out his range of motion and said he was fine, so I didn't end up going. My son is 17m and just got his first band, so I would say no, it's not too late for you, but I would definitely get measurements done. I don't see anything drastic in the photo, but then again, I don't know what her head looked like when she first graduated. If you're really bothered by it, it wouldn't hurt to get another eval. For your sake, I sincerely hope it's not regression! Please keep us posted! Guest guest
Hello. I looked at her picture and judging by the pic, I think her head looks fine. I don't even really see any plagio. As far as the tort, if you are concerned you should talk to the Dr about PT. Some kids do tend to have some recurring tilt, esp when they might be going through a growth spurt. Guest guest
I'm sorry your seeing regression. While I only see 1 pic - what I see is flatness on her leftside. Is that right? It actually reminds me of what my dd looks like. (though my dd's is on the right.) It's hard to describe - but here is a pic of her MRI that clearly shows her skull shape. And this is AFTER 2 bands! Guest guest
I forgot to say before I hit send - my dd also has tort. it is still present. It wasn't until we did alot of testing (MRI, etc) that we found out her tort is caused by neuro problems. She has spinal cord issues. My dd's tort has gotten worse and I thought better at times. If you are seeing tort - then see the orthopeadis or PT again. Also, it probably couldn't hurt to get a CT or MRI to see if there are any abnormalities that might be causeing the tort. A neurologist can help with that. As far as a bend - it's up to the band provider... I've heard of them banding at that age - but with the knowledge that little to no improvment can be achieved. Guest guest
I see some flatness on the left side too (like above the ear). I would go to wherever she was banded and see what they have to say. Overall though, I think her head looks great. Do you have any pics of when she first graduated to compare then and now with? > > > > > > I'm sorry your seeing regression. While I only see 1 pic - what I see is flatness on her leftside.?
