Guest guest
Buckwheat is gluten free. The " wheat " in its names does throw you for a loop though, doesnt it? Its a completely different grain than wheat. > > > > Hello Does anyone have a buckwheat bread recipe that DOESN'T use > > tapioca, potato, or soy in the ingredients? Guest guest
Nope, it's not a grain, and it's from the rhubarb family, it's the ground seeds. (says so right on the package- " is made from buckwheat groats, the seeds of a plant that is a relative of dock & rhubarb. Since it's not actually a grain, buckwheat flour contains no gluten " I just tried it, and no ill effects either, actually it made me feel BETTER than i usually do, so that's why i was scouting for the recipe if anyone had it. > > > > Hello Does anyone have a buckwheat bread recipe that DOESN'T use > > tapioca, potato, or soy in the ingredients? Guest guest
Carol Fenster says that 1 cup of wheat flour = 7/8 cup buckwheat flour, if that helps you to substitute. I don’t see a recipe in my stuff that would help otherwise. As long as we’re on buckwheat though…One thing I do really like is to add toasted buckwheat groats (kasha) to waffle batter. It adds a nice texture. That would probably work in pancakes and muffins too….. Laurie lbilyeu@...
