Guest guest
We have a DocBand which has a different weaning process (3 hours on, 1 hour off for 2 days, then right to 23 hours). My son didn't cry at all, so I imagine you might be stressed a little right now. Is he crying every time you put it on him? For the whole hour? That would be very distressing. Are there any red marks that could be causing him pain? Or do you think he just doesn't like it? I'm sorry, I'm not sure what to say. I would hope it would just take a few more times for him to get used to it and hopefully all will be well. Good luck! Guest guest
there was some redness at first but the orthotist shaved down those areas....and they were right were there is needed pressure, so now the redness goes away. i dont think it is a comfort thing and yeah I think he doesnt like it, he had a murky start and was such a tough kid through a lot of stuff, but he is not digging the helmet. he screams the entire time it is on, urgh. hope I am not a single case :C anyone experience this? Guest guest
Hi there, yes, everyone is different. my son didn't like the helmet on at all and there isn't a big weaning process for the RHS helmet - you pretty much have it on the whole day by day 2. He always cried when the helmet went on or off, cried during the fitting and had two weeks of " adjusting " before he was back to normal. IT also took about 2 weeks for him to adjust to NOT having a helmet anymore! But in the end, he has a great noggin and now it's sort of a funny, interesting story to tell! -- In Plagiocephaly , " phxreagan " <phxreagan@...> wrote: > > Hello everyone, my 6 mth son, Jack got his helmet yesterday. Guest guest
--hi there, my son also had some movement with his starband which we received last Wed. i called the ortho. on fri. and was told it was normal and in a few weeks when the head is growing into the pockets, the band will become more secure with less if no movement. i was concerned because the movement seems to be causing mild skin irritation. i was told to back off the wearing schedule and keep an eye on the irritation. tonight he will be sleeping in it. he has been sleeping through the night since he was 3 months (he is now 4 months old). with 2 other kids ages 3 and 2 this is not a luxury but a necessity! the best of luck to you and your son! - In Plagiocephaly , <gt875@...> wrote: > > my son got his starband yesterday and we have the same process. 1 hour on 1 off etc. He is ok with it on so far. he doesn't seem to notice it. Hopefully that will still be the case when he starts sleeping in it!! His moves slightly. Guest guest
my son also has slept through the night since 3 months old. he is 5 months old now. he does not seem to notice the band. My ortho said some movement was normal but it moves over his ear partially when he lays down. I am going to call tomorrow because I don't know if that is normal?
