Guest guest
Heidi- She told me the same thing last night. Did she tell you that great analogy? If the child's reports are from age 2.5 and now the child is 5, half the life of that child has gone by. Half of my life would make about 20 years old. I was a completely different person and a report written then probably wouldn't be applicable now 20 years later. She said if they are either very busy or very sloppy or stupid they might not care. But, if they are on the ball they probably will and have every right to ask for and conduct a new neuro and speech eval. << The child needs to be reclassified but does not necessarily need to be reevaluated. If all parties agree to use the previous testing for the new classification then no new formal eval is necessary. My daughter was five last year and theCST decided there was no need to do formal evaluations. They determinedthat what they had on file was sufficient. Ann >> Ann,I believe this is incorrect. I was told by my district that when my sonturned 5, they needed to do a re-evaluation to properly classify him frompre-school handicapped to Autism. They even admitted that they were late indoing so.You can check this with COSAC - they will be able to tell you right away.Cheryl
