Hello everyone, my 6 mth son, Jack got his helmet yesterday. He

screamed and screamed at the fitting, which I figured was normal?

Anyhow, we start the Hanger process of 1 hour on 1 hour off, 2 hours

on 1 hour off etc... tomorrow. Please share some specifics on how

your child adjusted, like hours of crying? a day of crying? a week of

crying? Just need to prepare myself on what is to come, I realize

each kid is different but some personal experiences always helps.

THANKS!

Malcolm adjusted really quickly. He cried at his fitting, but seemed fine once he was wearing the helmet. I was the one who cried the most! Every time I close the door on reality, it comes in the window.

My daughter also has a Hanger band. She didn't like the fitting and never likes it when we take off the band or put it back on. She never screamed though and only cries when we are at the ortho - she is going thru that stage however where she only wants mama and doesn't even like for other people to look at her much. We had some problems the first few days with taking it off and putting it back on and just decided to go ahead and leave it on for 23 hours on the 2nd or 3rd day (I can't remember which) and she was fine with that. She never had major red spots or skin irritations. She adjusted very well in a short period of time and most of the time doesn't even notice that her band is on. She didn't get banded until she was almost 8 months though and maybe it's easier on older babies, I don't know.

my son got his starband yesterday and we have the same process. 1 hour on 1 off

etc. He is ok with it on so far. he doesn't seem to notice it. Hopefully that

will still be the case when he starts sleeping in it!! His moves slightly. The

ortho said that is normal. did anyone else experience this?
