The instructions that come with the STARband specifically say to

use only rubbing alcohol to clean the STARband because other products may be

harmful to the child’s sensitive skin. Vigorously rub the inside of

the STARband with a washcloth containing rubbing alcohol or by applying rubbing

alcohol to a new soft toothbrush. Set the orthosis upside down to dray

and weather permitting, place the orthosis in the sun to dry. Shampoo the

child’s head daily, and reapply the STARband when both the head and the

STARband are dry. Some children have very sensitive scalps and may benefit

from a mild hypoallergenic or herbal shampoo. The orthosis should not get

wet.

Depending on which band you have, you may not

want to use baby

soap. I think with Star Band it is fine to use baby soap but NOT

with the DOC band. Check out what is fine for use on your band.

You can use a good smelling baby soap/shampoo on your baby's head

though.
