Guest guest
I am SO nervous about this. I keep thinking about how I would feel about wearing a band on my head ALL the time. My daughter has such a beautiful disposition, always smiling. I just wish I could explain to her why she needs to wear the band. I know I would have regretted not doing it, even though she is mild-moderate. I think we're prepared-- she's been sleeping on memory foam already, we bumped her out of the infant car seat and into the roundabout--I purchased 70% rubbing alcohol, aquaphor and hydrocortozone ointment. Do I need anything else? I already can't wait till it's over and it hasn't even begun. It's ironic because for about the last threee nights she's been sleeping the whole night through ( I read other posts where babies just start sleeping through the night right before banding); I not going to count on that continuing. Guest guest
Banding should go well! Our son had the same happy disposition the entire time banded. He also continued to sleep through the night from night 3 forward with the band. He was 7 1/2 months when banded. We didn't use memory foam (our son actually started sleeping on his tummy shortly after he got the band so I don't think I would have felt comfortable with memory foam at that point anyways). The only other thing to be prepared is to get stickers or something to make the band cute. Also, your daughter WILL pick up on your attitude towards the band. It will go fine. > > I am SO nervous about this. I keep thinking about how I would feel > about wearing a band on my head ALL the time. My daughter has such a > beautiful disposition, always smiling. Guest guest
Every kid is different! It seems almost every mom on here has said that there kids are back to pretty much normal in a couple of days. My son took much longer, and still prefers life without out, but I think he is the exception. If your child has trouble, talk to me about it, I can give you some further advice. But I wouldn't worry if I was you, almost every kid is fine in no time - and trust me, even with a kid who had difficulty adjusting - the time flew by after the first couple of weeks! I promise!!!! Stay positive! > > I am SO nervous about this. I keep thinking about how I would feel > about wearing a band on my head ALL the time. My daughter has such a > beautiful disposition, always smiling. Guest guest
When our daughter got her DOC band, the schedule was to have her wear it for 3 hrs (I believe), then check for any spots that didn't fade within an hour. We were to do that every 3-4 hours for the first 2 days, then start 23/7 the 3rd day. I know we started her wearing it the 2nd day for the 23 hours, and she did just fine. We were very blessed that she accomodated so easily! Toni Re: Banding tomorrow -Does anyone know if that is also the typical protocol also used for DOC bands?
