Guest guest
In a rather shocking turn of events, our Christian (now 8mos) has now had a referral onto the economy and a further referral to OrthoKorea. Tricare tells me they will reimburse me 100% of cost as we are Tricare Prime. (!...yes, it was January that they said they would not refer or cover any of it) We went for his initial scan today and now I have questions about the numbers... I did do a search but couldn't find anything that showed what " normal " was. Is there a file here that shows how to read the numbers? HT: 31.1 AP: 161.0 ML: 121.6 CR: 0.755 CIRC: 450.6 RSI: 55.0 Oblique Measurements Diag1: 143.6 Diag2: 157.9 MIN: 120.0 MAX: 164.3 Based on other postings if I take the difference between Diag1 and Diag2(14.3mm), then is that how severe his plagio is? Guest guest
See the explanations below J From: Plagiocephaly [mailto:Plagiocephaly ] On Behalf Of Don & Jo Sent: 13 March 2008 12:54 Plagiocephaly Subject: [sPAM] Tricare and Numbers HT: 31.1 – Height of the head AP: 161.0 – Cranial Width ML: 121.6 - Cranial Breadth CR: 0.755 - Cephalic Ratio = Cranial Breadth/Cranial Length. An ideal ratio would be 0.78 or 78%. Brachycephaly Severity - normal - 73-83%; moderate - 83.1% to 87.9%; severe - 88% and higher. Scaphocephaly Severity - normal - 73-83%; moderate - 68.1% to 72.9%; severe - 68% and below. CIRC: 450.6 - Circumference of the head RSI: 55.0 - Radial Symmetry Index (RSI) = from the front of the head, 15° segments are measured and added. The addition of the right side segments is subtracted to the addition of the left side segments. An ideal ratio would be left side – right side = 0 (<30 mm normal Oblique Measurements Diag1: 143.6 - Length of diagonal taken at 30° on each side (30° corresponds to the corner of the eye). Diag2: 157.9 - Length of diagonal taken at 30° on each side (30° corresponds to the corner of the eye). MIN: 120.0 – the smallest length across the head, ideally this would be parallel across the top of the head (or on a STARscan, -90 degrees) MAX: 164.3 – the largest length across the head, ideally this would be perpendicular across the top of the head (or on a STARscan, 0 degrees) Based on other postings if I take the difference between Diag1 and Diag2(14.3mm), then is that how severe his plagio is? That is correct. The subtraction of Diag 1 and Diag 2 gives an indication of the asymmetry of the head. An asymmetry between 0-3 mm is normal; <6 mm is very mild; 6-10 mm is mild; 10-15 mm is moderate; 15+ mm is severe Molly Novato, California Nicolas, 2, tort & plagio, STARband (CIRS Oakland) 4/24/06-9/12/06, Graduate! , 5 ,
