Guest guest
was casted over a week ago and we anticipate him getting his helmet early this week. Unfortunately the orthotist was unable to do another scan (first one was 2 months ago) before casting to see what type of progress has made. When he has therapy this past week his PT said that she thought his head was looking much better and although he was still asymentrical in his face he was looking great. My husband also thinks he has made some major improvements recently. I'm afraid that maybe we (I) made a bad decision and maybe he doesn't need to be banded. His ears are still not positioned correctly (when scanned they were 1 - 1 1/2 " off) but maybe he would be okay without it. I feel like I was the one pushing for this and maybe I made a wrong decision. He hasn't even gotten it yet and I'm worried. Maybe it's the jitters since I recently read the post from parents that hate it and the mood changes in their children. has a wonderful personality which has just begun to really come out because he has a long string of illnesses in the past. My husband is supporting " our " decision but I hate to put him through all this is he ended up not really needing it. Just needed to vent
Guest guest
Honestly - in my opinion - if his face is asymmetrical and the ears are still off then you are making the right decision. Even if it doesn't correct fully - if you don't band you would forever wonder "what if we had banded..." but with the band you have the chance of correction. Can the ortho scan at the next appt? What kind of band are you getting? We had hanger and our ortho did scans alot. Guest guest
Go through with the banding. I am sure that a little progress is nice to see but you will see so much more evening out with the ears when you get the band on. My son was happy before and never seemed to even notice the band was on. Slept through the night the first night and every other, all kids are different. Give it a try you have come this far and you need to trust your initial instincts.
