Well, the only piece of velcro that I could find on short notice was

an already used one, so I hot-glued it. However, I think my friend

just used the velcro with the adhesive on the back. She used the

circle shape and seems to hold up the best. I need to replace mine

because I didn't put enough glue all around the edges and its square.

The edges catch things and lift up the velcro. I will be using the

adhesive velcro this time... and of course round too.

I am trying to envision the ribbon loop. Have you tried it yet? I'd

love to see or better understand how it will work.

We also put stickers on her helmet. We just got a plain white helmet

with the intentions of decorating. We didn't think the colors that

were available 'fit' us. We would have gladly taken a pale pink, but

it wasn't an option. I don't think I have the patience to keep up

with an acrylic paint job. Even the stickers might be too high

maintainence for me... we will see. I am SO thankful that the clear

nail polish tip was on here, because I didn't know how I was going to

keep a sticker on the helmet for more than two days! Our PT suggested

superglue, but I just didn't think that would work long term... glad I

didn't try that one.

Now, I just need to make some more because I only have one right now

and its too small for my taste. Big girly bows are what I am shooting

for next.

Re: Decorating:Bows

My daughter just got her helmet last week and I was planning to do

the same thing with the velcro and bows - and here I thought I had a

great new idea! :-) What did you use to glue the velcro on? Just

superglue? I was also thinking another option would be to put a

ribbon " loop " on the helmet that I could just slide the bow clips

through...glad to hear someone else has tried it and it has worked!
