Hi , sorry to change the subject a bit, but I see that your daughter is in a starlight band. My 7 month daughter is in a Hanger band, but she may switch to the Starlight (sp?) because her head/skin is becoming too hot in the Hanger band (long story ). With the lack of padding, do you notice that your daughter's head is staying cool? Is there a lot of sweating? Is she developing many red marks? I have to buy all new larger shirts (just so they have a largeshead opening) for him? Hi ,

She does sweat alot in the starlite band. He told us to just not overdress her..and thankfully its a little colder now too. But, it does not seem to bother her...and thankfully no red marks. He did put some padding in it for an adjustment but he took it out later since it was not staying in place (I guess because of the sweat and the fact that she has hair). But he did tell us that for her he think she would benefit from the starlite because of her age he thought that the lack of padding would give her better results. Hope that helps.

Yes, that does help. Thank you! Our orthotist at Hanger is working with us on how to get more air to Gracie's skin. We are working our way back into the helmet after two weeks of having it off (to heal the rash on almost all of her head). This time, we have holes drilled all over the helmet (it looks like a collander). Ha! She also made the hole on top much bigger. So far, so good. It sounds like the Starlite band wouldn't help us (unless we turned it into a collander, ha!). Thanks alot for answering my question. Hope all goes well with your daughter's treatment! I am so glad that the holes over the top are working! I am sorry to hear that she got a rash all over. I hope that everything goes well with Gracie's treatment too! What a precious name!
