Guest guest
How to expand a graphic on a computer. Unfortunately will not work with your bank account. Get what graphic you want to capture, up on your browser, in this case the temp chart. Right click on the chart. That will open up a menu. Chose " save as " and a place to save it to your hard drive will open up. Pick where you want to save it, or note where it is going if you choose the default and note what you call it. Any program that can handle graphics will do, but paint comes right with your copy of windows. Go to start/ accessories/ paint. When it is open put your cursor right on the bottom right corner of the white working area. Press the right mouse button and keep it depressed and drag the work area bigger. You are attempting to " grab " the corner so you can drag the white work area to a bigger size. It takes some practice and patience but you CAN do it! I am clumsy and shaky from mercury poisoning, so if I can learn to do it, YOU can! One you have the paint work area big enough.... Choose file. ON the pull down menu., chose open, and open the chart you saved to your hard drive. Then you have to grab the corner of the temperature cart and drag it to the size of the white work area. At least the skill you just learned to make the work area bigger will work here too, except you grab the charts corner not the work area's. Save. Of, if for some reason save as does not work. Another option which will let you even save pictures that have the save as feature blocked you can hit the " print screen " button on your keyboard. Yup. its there for a purpose! ) That copies it into your clip board where it can be pasted into any graphics application. Just paste in the temp chart from the clip board. Go up to edit, open up the pull down menu and chose paste. But now you will have to crop it as " print screen " saves the ENTIRE monitor view, not just what you want. In paint there is a bar to the left that has control buttons. Chose the one that looks like a square and click on it. Now put the cursor to the top left of where you want your crop to start, depress and keep the mouse button depressed and drag it down to the right and bottom of where you want it to end. Release the mouse. You will have a square around the area to be cropped. Go up to edit. Chose " cut " and it will do precisely that, cut the chart out of the unwanted background. Close paint, and open it again. There is an easier way to do this, but thats for another lesson. Once its open again, click and drag your work space to the size you want as instructed above. Then paste in the chart and grab its bottom right corner and drag it to the size you want. Pat yourself on the back. You have learned a new skill that will stay with you the rest of your life. Now pay it forward. Teach someone else something they don't know. :-) Hensley <>< 8-)
