Guest guest
Hello Ladies, I hope you all are having a pain free day. My OBGYN Dr. prescribed Boric Acid Suppositories to prevent yeast infections, which is absolutely great if its works. I have recurring infections and specifically mostly yeast infections that go away temporarily and then come back....grrr it makes me so frickin ANGRY!!! Has anyone had success using them? I've read past posts from the " Happy Pelvis Group " and some women recommend having the Boric Acid Suppositories compounded with Yeast Arrest. My skin is VERY sensitive especially in the vulva area. If any of you have any suggesions, what it could be compounded with that'd be more than helpful. Thanx again you are all so sweet and always have useful information. ~~ Stay Positive & Open-Minded
Guest guest
Smantha, I tend to think that the less stuff you use for these treatments, the less chance there will be to be reactive to something. If you use Boric Acid (and I do) and you are sensitive in that area, you might smear some aquafore or A @ D ointment with zinc on the area before inserting it. That would prevent any stinging, etc. Using Boric Acid or any vaginal antifungal will relieve temporarily a yeast infection but information seems to be leading to the fact that it is the intestinal tract that has an overgrowth of yeast (candida for example) and that it migrates to the vagina. I think until one figures out how to heal the intestinal tract (perhaps allergies, perhaps an inflammatory bowel problem--Gluten Sensitivity, Crohn's) the yeast is going to go on and on. Some have found that probiotics that contain Lacobacillus GG or Rhamnosis to be helpful. It is a terrible and seemingly lasting problem but I don't think for a minute that just Boric Acid or inserting vaginal anitfungals (don't use them ever in my opinion) will do much more than relieve the problem temporarily. Boric acid is a good choice for that relief and you may find that you need them often. Sometimes I wonder why the doctors don't learn more about the yeast problem because at least in my opinion, they don't know very much.I wish you well with it.
