Guest guest
Anyway, I am wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge or experience with the progesterone (sp?) No personal experience, but I almost went on Micronor (a progesterone pill) but My LC told me she had hear several Moms say it had dried up thier milk, in *theory* progestrone should boost production but for some reason the pills have the opposite effect -Llanda Mommy to 4/4/2000 visit 's Web page at http://www.growthspurts.com/view.asp?s=20924 "I am in shape. Guest guest
If you want to keep bfing I would run very far away from them lol I know they are *supposed* to be ok for bfing moms but I have friends who have had a DRASTIC drop in supply with them. One friend fought tooth and nail to get her supply back, most just gave up and started supplementing then switched to formula. Dh and I have used condoms exclusively since our middle child was born. They work for us, dh really likes using them REALLY he does! He doesn't understand why other guys don't, he says putting them on is half the fun lol He is getting a vasectomy this winter though, when he has time. I just joined the group. I have a daughter who is 22 months and a new baby boy who is eight weeks. I nursed my daughter for 15 months (weaned in fifth month of pregnancy due to extreme tenderness) and am now nursing my son. My question is about birth control. My OB gave me the minipill since I don't want any more children; however, I feel a little uncomfortable taking it because I have no other information. I know I can't trust nursing full time as a method of birth control since I started ovulating at 5 months after my daughter was born. She had never even had one bite of solids or one bottle of supplement at that point either! Anyway, I am wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge or experience with the progesterone (sp?) only pills. Thanks for any advice at all. -------------------------- eGroups Sponsor -------------------------~-~>eGroups eLertsIt's Easy. It's Fun. Guest guest
Everytime I here about a mom on the mini-pill, I hear about a big drop in milk supply. Plus, there is no research on what the hormone effect will be on our children. There are other, non-hormonal forms of b/c available for men and women, I'd try something else. Guest guest
, Welcome to the list. Sorry for this late reply. Some women have no trouble with the mini pill but others suffer a loss in supply. I would suggest finding another form of birth control while nursing. All hormonal birth control comes with the risk of supply reduction. It doesn't affect all women that way but many. If you do decide to try it just be sure to watch your supply.
