Hey ,

Thanks for responding. I used to use licorice..but it seemed like it was making me feel bad when I raised my isocort, so I stopped using it. I even seem to remember high bloodpressure. But its a great idea, and tomorrow Ill try it..if only to get me out of this bad spot right now. Do you mind saying how you felt with low aldosterone? also is the licorice helping that? thanks, leisa

Have you tried using Licorice? That can sometimes help with low aldosterone, which is probably causing the OH. I'm using it now and it does seem to help with the OH, but my electrolytes don't seem to be a problem for me despite the fact that my aldosterone was 4. --Steph> > > > Subject: Re: fainty ..cant stand othostatic hyoptension> To: RT3_T3 > Date: Saturday, May 15, 2010, 7:08 PM> > > > > > > > > > > > > Orthostatic hypotension is usually from low aldosterone. Have you had that checked? Extra salt water can help this sometimes though it won't last if your

aldosterone is very low. Mine was only 4 <range <=21>, when it is really bad it is called salt wasting. You can take in salt all day and it doesn't matter because you just pee it out.> > Kitty> > > > > > > To: RT3_T3 > Sent: Sat, May 15, 2010 9:01:01 PM> Subject: fainty ..cant stand othostatic hyoptension> > > > Does extra isocort help the horrible dizzy faint feeling of orthostatic hypotension? I think this is the feeling of no oxygen that Ive been trying to explain. > one bloodwork said my sodium was too high 147...and then a week later in the ER it was 139. Very confused as if sodium even helps it. Maybe its potassium that I should be focusing

on...or perhaps more isocort, although I take 14 a day. Unfortunantly coffee helps it in the morning and wine helps it a bit at night.>------------------------------------We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. I live in Minnesota. It doesn't seem like anyone has luck with endos. My doc used to b an ER doc and now specializes in hormones, but doesn't feel comfortable with Florinef. He has no problem prescribing cortisol, but thinks my sod and potasium are fine and he says I am not having symptoms of low aldosterone. I don't feel light headed often. Have light trouble and don't pee very often. I am so thirsty and have dry mouth and burning mouth.. Not sure if these r symptoms? I need to know more on it. I'm not sure if you can get it without an Rx. Have you had your aldosterone tested? If you are low then I'm not sure why your doctor wouldn't prescribe it, although I think it is hard to find docs to prescribe steroid meds. Maybe you can post a question about finding a doc in your area to the group and see if anyone responds.
