Guest guest
Hi Kim: I'm not a technical writer either, but do you have to do up a separate website? Isn't there a way to just make some areas private and some public? )And then members can chose to post private or public info) I know in my courses there are password protected documents within course websites. Could we (you) do something like that? I'd volunteer to build/add to the links page. I also think it would great if someone from each country could do a page for their country (would have to split the US down I know) about things like the status of the lapband there, knowledgeable physicians and surgeons, support groups, insurance, country specific listserv's, etc., that kind of thing. Guest guest
I again agree with Kim. The bandster webpage should just be our private little home. If anyone wants to share their experience about the band with the world they can write a webpage of their own just like I did about my experiences with the Swedish band http://members.aol.com/brioletta . If someone really wants to look at the bandster webpage all they would need to do is subscribe to bandsters and get the password from Kim. No big deal. Guest guest
Friends- I TOTALLY agree we should have a public AND a private section... no way all the private info there goes public !! BUT-- here's a layout idea for the page, Kim and all HTML wiz's tell me if it is doable: 1. Public area: - About the LapBand - LapBand Links - LapBand Sucess Stories with certain pix (obviously only people who agree), and then first name, age, surgeon, date of surgery, place of surgery, email and that's about it !!! 2. Private area: - obviously acess to the same thing - Family section- all stories, anything you want - Gallery, - Chat - Forum How does this sound ?? isn't it simply a matter of blocking a different part of the site ? i.e. making the index page normal, and when you try to enter a member's section, you need a pw (the login thingie) ? Kim ? Anyone ? ~ Dorit
