Guest guest
My son is ASD and in the Emotionally Handicapped Cluster in an elementary school in Broward. He is in 4th grade and it is clear to me, and to " some " staff members, that he probably will never be mainstreamed. Okay by me, because he is who he is, and he is not a square peg to be crammed into a round hole. He has alot of sensory issues and behavior issues, so a typical classroom is not appropriate. So, I'm thinking about middle school coming up soon, and I was wondering if there are clusters in middle school? How does the school district handle placement for the kids who cannot be mainstreamed? I am aware of the McKay option, but because of my divorce situation, public school is the only option right now. Thanks.
