Guest guest
I was having the same issue. I could be so ready to sleep until I took my bedtime meds, then I was UP! I dropped the HC but kept taking the small T3 dose and I sleep like a baby now. Something I haven't done since I was a young child. When I had my adrenals tested, I was low in the mornings and high at night, which for me, explained the lifelong insomnia. I can't express how thrilled I am to actually be able to go to bed and go to sleep and stay asleep until morning! It's worth a try to move that bedtime HC into the other doses. I have major sleep issues and take 5 mg HC at night so I wasn't sure if it's a good idea to take T3 at night too or to try and take all my T3 in the morning and afternoon. > > > > > > Thanks! > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I'm still having these issues as well with sleeping, or should I say NOT sleeping! I have even tried waiting until I wake up in the middle of the night to take the HC and t3 -- with no better results. I have tried every combination of HC, higher, lower. Tonight I think I will resort to the one thing I haven't tried -- no t3 at bed. I KNOW it's supposed to be the right thing to do, but I suspect some of us just can't take it then. I can't take t3 with out any HC or I wake up feeling shaky with some heart pounding. But I think taking enough HC to tolerate the t3 wakes me right up! Or maybe the t3 is just waking me right up as I fall asleep just fine but wake up constantly all night long " ready to go " and it doesn't feel like the horrid adrenaline rushes, just wide awake. Guest guest
That does it. I'm stopping the t3 at bedtime, too, as it also wakes me right up! I can't stand not sleeping anymore. How much adenal stress is THAT alone causing??!! Hopefully, here's to a good night's sleep tonight -- finally!! Oh, and your story is awful about the ER! Even now, can't believe the stupidity of medical staff... Kathleen Darn, I learned a valuable lesson. For some of us that have trouble falling asleep taking T3 will only keep us up more. I can't take it right as I am nodding off because it makes me wake up. > > Another thing, nobody knew anything about Cytomel. They had no idea what it was and when my thyroid tests came back suppressed I was able to explain the reason behind it to the neurologist and she actually understood. The entire time I dosed myself because they wanted to give me 75 of T3 all at one time instead of spacing it out. >
