Guest guest
Any benzo is fine to use once in a while. You have to take it consistently, pretty much every day, to get additcted to it. Even taking it a couple of times a week, you will NOT get addicted to it. Research how they work and you'll understand this. The brain receptors keep working properly as long as you don't keep the benzo in your system all the time. It's everyday use, for a period of time, that creates dependency, as the brain receptors shut down their own production of GABA and rely on the benzo. Weaning off allows then brain to kick back in for itself. Both Xanax and Klonopin are benzos, but I think Xanax is MUCH more addictive and harder to get off than Klonopin. That is my experience anyway. I can wean off Klonopin with little problems. Sure, some discomfort, but nothing major. Xanax -- what a nightmare!! Like everything else, it depends on the person, but I think Xanax is much more abused than Klonopin. For what I've read, and what the pdocs have told me, Xanax is one of the harder ones to get off of. It also has a short half life which means you crave it several times a day until weaned off. That NEVER happens to me on Klonopin. Everything in moderation. If you're having a panic attack, there's nothing wrong with taking a Xanax or klonopin. It's the taking of them every single day that causes the problem. Kathleen > I did not know about it. I have some given to me from years ago and hardly ever used it but since all of this meds are doing the same ,Xanax,Clonopin,e.t.c I thought they should be with the same effects.I guess ones are stronger then others and more addictive from that. So,is Xanax not so bad to use for once in a while? > Thanks > Milena > > > >
